Want to see where all the stars hung out and “chillaxed” last night in between presenting and receiving their awards? Well here is a sneak peek into the oh so chic lounge. The 2013 Architectural Digest Greenroom was designed by Madeline Stuart and definitely had a cool Art-Deco vibe going on…

I am going to go out on a limb and assume if you are following my blog that you already have seen what everyone wore to the Oscars last night and have strong opinions on each and every outfit. I’ll even bet lots of you watched a full 2 hours of the red-carpet even before the actual show started so I am not going to bore you with yet another recap of who wore what last night. However, I am going to post some fabulous after-party looks and in my opinion, some necessary wardrobe changes that you may not have seen already. So here it goes…

Two thumbs up for Jennifer Lawrence’s wardrobe change. This sleek Calvin Klein gown looks amazingly chic!

Seriously? At 75, Jane Fonda looks da*n good and can give any 20-something a run for their money. She just killed it last night.

I loved everything she wore last night. This Emilio Pucci creation looks great, too. Liev Schrieber ain’t hurting either. Just sayin…

Didn’t care for either of her looks last night. Her first dress didn’t fit well in the bust, it was sooo distracting and well this one by Saint Laurent, it bombs, too. Why is she hiding that figure?

A few of my favorite ladies were not to be missed at the after party, Minnie Driver and Marisa Tomei.

Fact: This girl is a freak of nature, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looks amazing in Valentino.

Amy Adams changed into a sleek dress for the after-party. I guess she didn’t have a choice, really. The train on her Oscar dress wouldn’t have survived the after-party.

The always stylish Diane Kruger rocks a short Giambattista Valli dress in chic black and white.

Leslie Mann looking fab in a chic long-sleeve gown by Andrew Gn and her man, Judd Apatow looks great as well.

The always beautiful Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom.

So what did you think of last night’s Oscar style? What looks did you like best? So CHIC!

Oohh Hermes, I have such a crush. What I wouldn’t do to have a piece of your iconic heritage in my closet. Certainly everyone wouldn’t mind having a gorgeous Birkin or Kelly bag in their arsenal, after all, posessing one is the ultimate “I’ve arrived” statement to the world.  Hey, I would even settle for a great piece of enamel jewelry. Gorge! This french fashion house which was founded in 1837 was originally a saddle maker. Hence, the logo. My how it has evolved. Now Hermes has become the ultimate luxury label. Let’s take a peek at some of the gorgeous goods…

The Kelly bag {introduced in 1935, take note- it only has one handle}

The chic jewelry {the Hermes Chain d’Ancre bracelet launched in 1938}

and oh those iconic Hermes scarves {introduced in 1937}

The Constance bag {introduced in 1939}

and the ultimate statement… the Birkin bag {introduced in 1984 but based on an 1892 design take note-this bag has 2 handles}

Continuing on, Hermes offers what I think is the ultimate accessory for the home. Without question, an Hermes Avalon blanket certainly holds some serious rank. This cashmere/wool blend blanket is the epitome of luxury and certainly adds just the right fabulous touch to any room. It’s just soo classic. Seems I am not alone as tastemakers have quite the love affair with it, I mean this oh so sophisticated blanket is always gracing the spreads of countless design mags.

Whether you place it on your bed, drape it on your sofa or side chair or hey, maybe even use it in the nursery {Rachel Zoe- I am referring to you} it is tres chic!

The Hermes “Avalon” blanket is definitely on my lust list and with its prominent H it certainly isn’t subtle. However, never one for subtlety, I kinda love it. However, at $1300 a pop it is quite the splurge. I know I will certainly try to justify it at some point in my life because just like a classic Hermes handbag this baby is an investment piece that you can enjoy for years to come…

Who can forget Carrie Bradshaw snuggling up with the Avalon blanket in the Sex & The City movie after her wedding debacle? No shocker that chic Charlotte had the classic Hermes Avalon blanket in her Park Avenue place. So CHIC!

L.A.M.B. Oxley, image via think runway

Alright, I gotta admit I am really dying to own a pair of the L.A.M.B. Oxley heels, something about that ankle strap, that texture. I have literally scoured the web trying to find these shoes in black, but no go, seems this shoe in black is 100% SOLD OUT. Yep, pretty much everywhere. I was a tad late to the game. Something about that double ankle strap, I dunno, but it got my heart a racing. Now that spring is around the corner I am seeing a plethora of gorgeous ankle-strap sandals albeit these are open-toe. I thought I would compile a BEST OF list so if you want to get in on this ankle-strap trend you won’t find yourself in the same position as I found myself with the L.A.M.B Oxley because that situation well, it pretty much blows. Here is my latest crush…

Alexander Wang Johanna sandals in black, can you say fabulous?

Check them out in green, oooh, and it doesn’t stop there…

What about the lizard embossed version ?

This is another gorgeous option in my opinion, the Tibi Carine sandal in black {but seems I am not alone, this style is super hot, already sold out in black at shopbop and just a few sizes left at piperlime and revolve clothing, seriously, weep! Kleenex please!}

But good news, what about the Tibi Carine in red? It’s bold color looks pretty darn chic to me because of the simple and glamorous styling of the shoe itself. Anyways, a little red says va va voom!

Alright, this a total splurge lust-worthy option. This one is by Celine and is a favorite of Kim Kardashian and Rhianna. Rhianna supposedly bought it in every color. Can’t say I blame her. It is sooo lovely. Just some more inspiration since I feel everyone NEEDS a pair of sexy ankle strap sandals in their closet for spring! image via Me Myself and Shoes

Just one of the million times Kim K. has busted out these Celine beauties!

The Gucci Ursula sandal isn’t too shabby either, just sayin’, I’ll take it. That horsebit, wow. However it’s not likely to happen in my lifetime but in case you just gotta have it, it also comes in fantastic off-white patent, turquoise blue patent, pink patent and other options like…

yep, yellow python. Wow. That’s all I gotta say, because surely everyone needs a designer sandal in yellow python. LOL. Back to planet earth…

So here is a great style by Nicholas. Seriously, these are so fine and much better on the pocketbook. Nicholas Jasmina snake sandals, $259. I am obsessed.

or how about them in red snakeskin, one of my absolute favorite colors.

I really like this style from Rachel Roy with a little gold embellishment a.k.a. “bling” and some braided leather on the strap, well I pretty much like everything from Rachel Roy so this Parker 4 sandal is no exception.

BCBG is always a “go to” in my book. Not to be left out of the sexy strappy sandal trend they have this option with a metallic touch. BCBG Finite in black/blue.

or the BCBG Finite in platinum/nude. Seems this little touch of metallic is going to be big…

Exhibit A. Check these out. Steve Madden Realove ankle strap sandals in black/gold. I’m in love with the price, too. $79.95, say it again…

Blake Lively rocked them with her “on trend” tuxedo pants. These beauties also come in red patent and a nice neutral nude color as well. Love!

GASP! I had to come up for some air. These gorgeous and oh so chic ankle strap sandals are from none other than the guy who pretty much wrote the book on chic in my opinion, Calvin Klein. Calvin Klein Vivian sandals in light taupe. Also available in bold orange which is my very favorite way to rock them for spring and a host of other options like antique white/grey and black snake print patent. No sh*t, priced at roughly $120. OMG, what are you waiting for? This sandal is hot!

A few more glorious images of the swoon-worthy orange pair

Aren’t they gorge??

Couldn’t resist one more image of them. Troubled though, I am wondering why my feet don’t look more like those in the picture? Oh yeah, it’s a foot model. Duh!

The Sam Edelman Allie sandal is really cute. This style comes in ice white and a pretty camel color as well. Just a touch of bling. This style has a cool zipper up the back that you can’t really see in the image. I so dig it.

Seriously, there are just so many options…I mean, maybe you want a platform? These are killer. B Brian Atwood Braganca platform sandals.

and last but certainly not least, another chic option from my favorite place, Tar-jay! Prabal Gurung for Target ankle-strap pumps available soon, seriously, they are available on February 10th. $39.99, say what?? Mark your calendars because the shoes are great but some of the clothes are killer. Click here to see my blog post on this exciting collection and some of my favorite pieces.

That’s a wrap. Seriously, I literally feel like my eyeballs are going to pop out after scouring the web for the best sexy ankle-strap sandal options to share. Time for a glass of chilled chardonnay. So CHIC!

I am excited to announce that I now have a CHIC SHOP on my blog full of some fab fashion choices and also some great selections for the home. Selecting items for my CHIC SHOP certainly takes me back to the days when I was working as an assistant buyer, wow, that was a complete other world, women’s footwear. The department was actually specifically called “Juniors and Update.” Think Mia, 9 West, Franco Sarto, Nina, etc. Our office decor was smashing. Joking. It was literally littered with shoe boxes galore and of course, tons of samples. Specifically, Doc Martens, Timberland boots, Sam & Libby black suede mules {that just kept blowing out in all stores} and my god, the Enzo Angiolini “Liberty” flat in literally every color of the rainbow. God, I am sooo dating myself! I miss those days sometimes, poring over the sales data with the team on Monday morning with our Diet Cokes scurrying to reorder the ‘hot items” and lamenting over a few lame ducks. Ahh, who am I kidding, what I truly miss…the lavish vendor dinners and of course, going to market! Well, I guess now this is my little stab at buying again, albeit no “open to buy” dollars to manage. Love it! I certainly hope you like some of my picks! Of course, I will periodically be updating them.

Here is the scoop: Here are a few ways you can access my CHIC SHOP:

1. by clicking on the CHIC SHOP tab on the home page of CHIC + GLAMOROUS {next to the HOME and ABOUT tabs}

2. by clicking on the CHIC SHOP, Shop Beth’s Picks link which pretty much smacks you in the face when you go to my blog’s main page. Ha! I always highlight one item I am obsessing over {currently the Clare Vivier leopard foldover clutch} and if you click on it, it will then show you all of my picks. This is located on the right sidebar of my blog just under my photo. Click here to take a peek.

On to other things, so I sat through the SAG Awards last night and yet again, I was underwhelmed. Not sure what I am expecting to see and well, maybe I am just being too harsh. I guess I truly want to be wowed/blown away and I just haven’t been too often this award season. I mean I can easily tell you who I have loved because they are so few and far between: Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen and Julianne Moore in Tom Ford at the Globes. That’s about it. Everyone is oohing and aahing about Jennifer Lawrence’s dress last night. I dunno, too safe, too predictable, I know, I know, I am well aware it was Christian Dior Haute Couture but it just screamed SAFE to me after her poor choice at the Globes, her “cone boob” bomb. I thought the styling was soo boring and think if maybe she ditched that diamond necklace for some great bold cuff bracelets it could have worked. It would have been more fresh and modern just like her. Don’t get me wrong, I love her, she is talented and hysterical. I am a huge fan. I guess I had high hopes.

Yawn!  image via Huffington Post

Also, I personally thought January Jones was trying too hard to be “fierce” and although I didn’t mind her Prabal Gurung black and white gown in my opinion, she was months late trying to pull of yet another Pink, Miley Cirus hairstyle that we have all seen before. Downton Abbey’s Michele Dockery showing some side boob was not sexy to me either. Anne Hathaway’s black number, well, I just DO NOT like the whole sheer thing that is going on. Period. Not a fan. So I didn’t like it. Lastly, I felt like Julianne Moore’s Chanel couture dress just didn’t fit her well up top. Something just wasn’t right. It had no waistline either.

Please know I am fully aware I am not Anna Wintour and certainly do not hold a regular position on The Fashion Police either, however, here are the looks I personally liked best from the 2013 SAG Awards…

Perfection! Nina Dobrev rocks an Elie Saab pink crepe gown, via Glamour

Stunning! Nurse Jackie’s Jaimie Alexander {Peter Facinelli’s hot new chick, sorry Jenny Garth, I sooo feel your pain} in a gorgeous black Marc Bouwer gown, via handbags and handguns

Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland in a beautiful purple lace Dolce & Gabbana number, via OK magazine

and last but not least, Jennifer Garner in Oscar de la Renta. She always looks fab on the red-carpet. I always look forward to her transformation. I mean, she is constantly photographed out and about dressed down with like zero makeup on and then when she hits the red-carpet she reminds us of just how flippin’ gorgeous and hot she is!  image via Glamour

Alright, I’ll stop there but I do think an honorable mention needs to go out to the french beauty Marion Cotillard for her Christian Dior number. So I think I’ll wrap up by highlighting some looks I am so hoping to see on the red carpet, let’s just call it my personal red carpet “Lust List”…

Perfection! Reem Acra via fabsugar

Oooh, I am a sucker for a cape and pretty much anything red, Elie Saab via the importance of being

Not usually a floral person but this fitted top and belt paired with this printed full skirt makes me swoon, Naeem Khan via

Bold colors and just such a great cut. Rachel Roy via

Hot! Michael Kors via

I am shocked I haven’t seen this Oscar de la Renta gown on the red carpet yet! I love it! The pockets are a huge plus in my book, via

alright, never say never because I actually like this sheer Jason Wu gown with the harness, via

Another gorgeous creation from Badgley Mischka, via style,com

So what’s the verdict? Do you agree with any of my red carpet picks? If so, which ones do you love? Would love to hear from you…
